Funeral services for the Pilbara
Newman Funeral Services boasts vehicles that have been customized to meet the challenging outback conditions of the Pilbara. These conditions include traveling vast distances to remote communities and regional towns. Hazards of the roads include the off road requirements as well as the livestock and kangaroos that frequent the roads.
Their vehicle is equipped with a power source and basic sound system. This is particularly helpful when conducting funerals in remote areas that do not have electricity service readily available.

Shire Cemetery Fees & Charges
Understanding our Fees & Services.
Regional service fees acknowledge that the Pilbara regions are unique. Keeping strictly to Monday-to-Friday business hours is challenging, and excluding weekends is often not possible.
Transfers of your loved one within the Pilbara may involve multiple mortuaries prior to burial, covering vast distances. This often requires our team to work outside normal business hours. We see plenty of sunrises and sunsets!
Our dedicated team may need to travel to facilitate your loved one’s funeral. Such travel often occurs beyond standard business hours and involves fatigue management, overnight stays, and on-the-road meals. It also requires vehicles suited to Pilbara conditions—ensuring safe, dignified travel while considering wandering livestock and extreme heat.
A flat regional service fee is charged across all Pilbara-gazetted cemeteries to recognize and offset these unique requirements.

Professional fees are those required by our industry specialists to meet all legislative and service requirements involved in caring for and sending off your loved one, depending on the services you select or require.
Our professional fees will vary depending on the type of send-off your loved one needs and the level of involvement our team has.
For example, we provide memorial services where the deceased is not required to be present. Perhaps your loved one passed away and was sent directly to Perth for the Coroner’s requirements. They may not return to the Pilbara if their burial is in Perth, interstate, or overseas. Those remaining in the Pilbara may wish to celebrate, reflect, and remember your loved one’s life and connections here. In this case, a memorial service may be appropriate, and our professional fees would be tailored accordingly.
